Nearly 16,500 firefighters have been battling 28 major wildfires in the state. 24 people have died and over 4,200 structures have been destroyed. Some people have avoided the flames but the smoke forced them to stay inside. "These are intese, huge blazes," said Tom Steyer. "This is a huge, immediate, urgent problem".

The lack of rain caused temperatures to soar. At least 35 people have died in the west coast, including 24 in California, 10 in Oregon and a child in Washington state. The North Complex Fire has burned 264,000 acres in Plumas and Butte counties.

The fires have been raging for three weeks. On Friday Governor Kate Brown said dozens were missing in her state alone. Forest managment is now trying to combat climate change as well as the fires. The North Complex Fire is now one of the most deadliest fires in history. Tens of thousands of people are now under evacuation orders as firefighters continue to try and fight off the fires in the state.
